End Citizens United Targets Key Republican Seats in 2018 Midterms

End Citizens United is a political action committee that has been making a name for itself over the past two years. ECU was established with the clear goal of ending the tragic Citizens United decision that was submitted by the Supreme Court back in 2010. This SCOTUS decision, which was prompted by a case submission from James Bopp and the right-wing propaganda group named Citizens United, formed the backbone of the influx of special interests and dark money that began flowing into Washington D.C. Since the Citizens United decision, Washington D.C. has been increasingly gridlocked by partisan behavior and that same behavior has been fueled by lobbyists. End Citizens United knows that the 2018 Congressional races are going to be of the utmost importance, and as a result, the PAC is targeting a slew of vulnerable conservative seats, and End Citizens United’s lacrosse camp.

The election of Donald Trump and the corresponding slide in cordial relations in Washington D.C. between the two top political parties has made the 2018 election cycle more important than it historically has ever been. Typically, voters are slow to turn out in these midterm elections but this year has the feeling of something different — and you can thank End Citizens United for that. End Citizens United put out a list of the top 20 targets for vulnerable seats during the 2018 midterms. Among those seats, four California Republicans were listed. Dana Rohrabacher from Costa Mesa, Darrell Issa from Vista, Duncan Hunter from Alpine and Mimi Walters from Irvine were all highlighted by ECU as extremely vulnerable thanks to the swing in public opinion regarding the GOP’s disastrous year of governance, and Twitter.com.

Tiffany Muller is the current President of End Citizens United and she has been vocal regarding getting people out to vote in order to make a difference. Muller said to reporters in a conference call, “California represents some of the best opportunities.” Muller went on to point out that each of the aforementioned four seats are completely vulnerable thanks to a slew of issues. Rep Issa and Rep Hunter are both under investigation for misuse of campaign funds and after the Roy Moore scandal, it looks like voters are actually starting to care about having upstanding political leaders.

End Citizens United has been generating buzz ever since the 2016 Presidential Election in order to unite the average American voter in order to make their voices heard. ECU knows that when politicians are beholden to lobbyists, they’ll never actually vote in accordance with their constituents. Thus, End Citizens United is helping to support progressive politicians who are willing to put an end to the Citizens United decision. The 2018 midterm elections will go down as some of the most historically important elections of all time, and http://escondidograpevine.com/2017/12/11/end-citizens-united-begins-gop-ditch-drive/.
