this past week I took my Aspeger son to the child resurch center in the city.
we calld it “his adventure”.And It was!
I got to spend some one on one time with him that we dont really get at home(with his 2 siblings)
We packd the van with sodas and his favorite snak items(bread and humas dip,and pringles potato crips)
and bundels up due to the windy/rainy oklahoma weather.
He wore his new winter gloves witch he insisted we needed to buy.
and off we go on our adventure!
we were supposed to have stayd at the ronald mcdonald house.and Ntzir had been looking forward to it especialy sence we googled it,and talkd about it.but halfway there I got a call telling me there was no room.
so I pulld over, and made some calls.got a place for us to stay and ,now back on the road.of course i talkd to Ntzir about the change in plans. And he seemd fine with it. We got to the hotel we were going to stay at and Ntzir askd me”is this the donald house?” and at that moment i was thinking “oh no”. then I spent a few min explaing to him again what happend, and he was fine. Thank g-d! he was fascinated with the stairs and the key card.now ntzir is a big fan of keys and he had never seen a key like this one so he had to try it out a few times for him self. he said “this is so cool”.he keept asking me “is this my adventure?” and “yay my adventure”. he even helpd me get our things into the room.he carrys in the chips :D and is stopping every minute to check things out.and is asking me questions about the hotel. once in the room, and the room inspected ,ntzir found the tv remote and flipped through the channels…no cartoons:( and he looks out the patio door saying he wants to go down to the pool and swim.he askd if i packd swimming trunks witch i tell him no.at this point he says he wants to get his p.j.s on (his favorite tomas the train ).hes bored only after 35 min in the room.so we text daddy back home for some ideas.(Ntzirs daddy also has Aspergers) so he finds us a place to find kosher chicken nuggets, and the closest mall. the whole time Ntzir is asking a ton of questions all of witch i try to answer. Ntzir had seen a mall before ,but not like this one .this one had an elevatore! and a escalator witch Ntzirs calld the moving stairs. he didnt even want to go into the little shops.up and down the escalator…..”oh well I thought,at least hes not bored”. then he needed to go to the bath room.”yay something different “i thought. on our hunt for the restrooms ntzir saw a big red(his favorite color)Lego that was bigger than him.I had to convence him we needed to visit the restroom first! but I was happy we atleast had a shop he wanted to visit. LEGOS.So we got back to the lego shop and Ntzir darted from one side to the next, saying “i want to buy this” ,and ” how much dos this costs”they even had keychains!we had to have been in that store for like an hour and 40 min.I dont even know how long…. but we didnt leave untill we had some red legos and a lego keychain. He still wantes that huge lego robot….
